Challenge
GlobalConnect’s tendering process was defined by manual work and slow starts. Every team member needed to read deeply into the tender material before planning could begin, leaving a chronic shortage of time for the final review.
Outcome
Pentimenti helped GlobalConnect save more than half the time otherwise spent on tender analysis and stakeholder summaries before proposal writing. Their win rate improved, while the team gained more confidence that nothing had been missed.
“Pentimenti doesn’t just analyse texts: it also assesses which requirements are difficult and what you need to pay particular attention to. That’s been pretty great to experience.”
GlobalConnect is a leading digital infrastructure provider in the Nordic region, owning and operating one of the largest interconnected fiber networks while delivering secure, high-capacity connectivity and data communication solutions to businesses and public sector customers. The company continues to serve its existing customers while growing its customer base.
Søren Nielsson is a Bid Manager at GlobalConnect with five years in the role and 35 years prior experience across IT sales. His day spans private client enquiries, large-scale tenders, and public procurement, a breadth of work that requires both speed and precision.
Compliance is non-negotiable: an ambiguous answer to a minimum requirement means disqualification, regardless of the hours invested.
Some of the challenges GlobalConnect faced:
- GlobalConnect’s tendering process was defined by manual work and slow starts.
- Every team member needed to read deeply into tender material before planning could begin.
- Competing priorities and bid volume made those starts consistently heavy going.
- The consequence was a chronic shortage of time for the final review, precisely when quality mattered most.
Manual Reading Meant Slow Starts and Rushed Final Reviews
GlobalConnect handled multiple private and public tenders, but the work often started slowly. Team members had to get thoroughly up to speed with long tender documents before planning and execution could begin.
“Before we introduced Pentimenti, our tendering process was characterised by a lot of manual work and a very, very slow start. The process requires all team members to get thoroughly up to speed with the material before you can begin planning and execution. And that was often heavy going, because people naturally had other things to attend to.”
That left too little time at the end of the process for the final review. With competing priorities and multiple large bids running at once, the thoroughness of that final phase was often the casualty.
“Before we got Pentimenti, I dare say we almost never had the time we needed for that very important final review effort. It didn’t mean we lost everything, but we missed that thoroughness at the end.”
When Søren and his team were introduced to Pentimenti and Atlas, they immediately noticed how quickly they could move from document intake to planning.
“When we were shown the solution for the first time, we could see the potential straight away. The demo showed that we could get going at an insane speed, especially through summaries and analysis of customers’ long tender documents.”
A 30-Day Holiday Deadline. 171 Requirements. One Critical Renewal.
One particularly demanding tender involved an existing customer of 19 years: a large public organisation in a 'vital sector'. GlobalConnect had roughly one month, including the Christmas holidays, to respond to a tender with 171 minimum requirements, while aligning 10 to 12 internal stakeholders.
Søren used the Atlas analysis agent immediately after uploading the tender material. Within 30 minutes, Atlas produced a complete, structured Excel list of all 171 requirements with condensed, readable descriptions. This became the team’s master tracking sheet for the 30-day process. The team added traffic-light status columns and a mitigation column directly to the sheet, allowing stakeholder sign-off to run in parallel.
“Atlas, or Pentimenti, helped us be very, very fast in starting the outreach to these many internal stakeholders with a pretty precise description, a densified description of the requirement so that people were not drowned in text.”
GlobalConnect won the contract renewal against a former monopoly in Denmark. The speed of the analysis allowed the team to begin outreach immediately and keep every requirement on track.
“I appeared as a genius in the process, which is also quite nice, not divulging that it was actually Pentimenti that did the hard work.”
How the team handled the renewal also caught the attention of senior leadership.
“For the first time, our head of solution management, a 19-year veteran, was genuinely impressed by how we handled it. I can't recommend Pentimenti enough for complex public tenders.”

Confidence and Control in Every Bid
Beyond individual tenders, Pentimenti changed how the team approaches each bid. Having a structured baseline from day one gave them far more confidence that they had understood the material from the start.
“The most significant difference is that I and my team feel considerably more confident that we’ve understood the material. We’re better prepared when we start, and that makes an enormous difference.”
Testing the analysis agent over time proved its precision. That removed the lingering fear that key requirements might slip through unnoticed.
“The whole process [without Pentimenti] would not feel 100% sure, you'd always wonder if you'd caught all the fish. Once you've tested the analysis agent and checked its precision over weeks or months, you don't have that fear of missing out. That was a huge strength.”

A Strategic Partnership with Fast Product Support
The relationship with the Pentimenti team became another central part of GlobalConnect’s adoption. Early collaboration ensured that feature requests and workflow needs were supported without delay.
“GlobalConnect was one of Pentimenti’s first customers, and that has given us a royal treatment. The support we’ve received, especially from our Customer Success Manager and Niklas, has been completely state of the art.”
Pentimenti was quick to capitalise on new use cases, turning user feedback into working features in days and providing what Søren saw as a lasting competitive edge.
“We’ve had the whole team behind us. I’ve never experienced anything like it: where you mention a wish on Tuesday and on Thursday you get word that now the solution supports that feature.”

“Before Pentimenti, our tendering process was slow to start and short on time at the end, which is exactly when quality matters most. We were handling too many large bids simultaneously, and the final review phase was almost always the casualty. Once Pentimenti was up and running, trained on our own documentation, policies, and previous bids, the change was immediate. Team members were fully up to speed in days rather than a week. We had time to refine our submissions properly. And our win rate improved. What I didn’t expect was the confidence it creates: going into a bid knowing your team has genuinely understood the material, and that nothing has been missed. That’s hard to put a number on, but it’s real. The partnership with Pentimenti has also been exceptional: responsive, grounded, and genuinely attentive to how we work. I would recommend them without hesitation to any company still working through tenders manually.”
